Description

The Cisco WS-F6K-48-AF is a high-performance 48-port 10/100 Ethernet switching module designed for the Catalyst 6500 Series chassis. It supports IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE), making it ideal for powering IP phones, wireless access points, and other PoE-enabled devices directly through the Ethernet cable. Built for enterprise and campus networks, this line card offers scalable performance with integrated PoE intelligence and per-port power management. The module is hot-swappable and integrates seamlessly into existing Catalyst 6500 Series systems, allowing for minimal downtime during upgrades or replacements.

Equipped with 48 RJ-45 autosensing ports, the WS-F6K-48-AF supports Layer 2 switching and is capable of delivering up to 15.4W of power per port. It includes a daughter card that enables PoE functionality and connects to the switch fabric of the chassis for high-speed data transfer. The card supports Cisco IOS software for robust network management and security features.
