The Cisco QDD-400G-SR42-BD is a high-performance 400G QSFP-DD transceiver module designed for short-reach data center interconnects. Utilizing a bidirectional (BiDi) optical design, it supports 400 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over multimode fiber (MMF) with a reach of up to 100 meters using OM4 cabling. The module operates over 850nm and 910nm wavelengths, enabling efficient use of duplex LC connectors and simplifying cable infrastructure. Its compact QSFP-DD form factor ensures compatibility with dense switching environments and high-capacity aggregation layers.
Built with eight parallel 50G PAM4 electrical lanes, the QDD-400G-SR42-BD delivers reliable throughput while maintaining low power consumption. It supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) for real-time diagnostics of key parameters such as temperature, voltage, and optical power levels.
