The Juniper MX480-BASE-AC is a high-performance, modular edge router designed for demanding service provider and enterprise network environments. Built to deliver scalability and reliability, the MX480 supports a wide range of Layer 2 and Layer 3 services, making it ideal for core, aggregation, and edge applications. Its chassis supports up to six Modular Port Concentrators (MPCs) and two Routing Engines, offering flexibility and redundancy. The AC-powered base configuration includes fan trays and power supplies, ensuring efficient cooling and power management.

Equipped with Junos OS, the MX480 delivers advanced routing capabilities, including MPLS, BGP, and multicast support. It features a 480 Gbps switching capacity, and with the right configuration, can scale up to 3 Tbps. The system includes front-to-back airflow and is designed for NEBS compliance, making it suitable for deployment in a variety of environments.
