Description

The Juniper MX2K-MPC9E-IRB is a high-performance Modular Port Concentrator designed for the MX2000 Series 3D Universal Edge Routers. Built to deliver dense 100GbE connectivity, it supports up to 480 Gbps of throughput, making it ideal for large-scale service provider and data center environments. Its intelligent queuing, traffic shaping, and support for advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 services enable efficient traffic management across complex networks. The MPC9E-IRB model features integrated packet forwarding engines and enhanced scale for subscriber management and edge routing.

This unit includes support for up to six Modular Interface Cards (MICs), offering flexibility for a variety of port configurations including 10GbE, 40GbE, and 100GbE options. It is built with Juniper’s Trio chipset, which provides programmability and deep packet inspection for advanced service delivery. The MPC9E-IRB is hot-swappable and designed for high availability with redundant hardware support.
