The Ciena 100GBASE-LR4 is a high-performance transceiver module designed for long-reach data transmission over single-mode fiber. Built to support 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE) applications, it operates on four optical lanes, each transmitting at 25Gbps, to achieve a total data rate of 100Gbps. With a reach of up to 10 kilometers, it is ideal for data center interconnects, enterprise networks, and telecom applications requiring reliable, high-bandwidth connectivity. The module uses LC duplex connectors and complies with the IEEE 802.3ba 100GBASE-LR4 standard, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of networking equipment.

Engineered for efficiency, the Ciena 100GBASE-LR4 utilizes advanced Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology to transmit four separate wavelengths over a single fiber pair. It features Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM), allowing real-time monitoring of key performance parameters such as temperature, voltage, and optical power levels. Designed in a hot-swappable CFP or QSFP28 form factor, it enables easy installation and replacement without network downtime.
